To keep or not to keep...

I bought a cute new purse today. It's absolutely adorable. And it was a STEAL. However, a steal from a bag that was originally $400 is not completely considered a STEAL in some worlds. I have been itching for a new purse (a fancy one) for over a year now and haven't found/bought/discovered the right one at the right price. My rules for this new bag purchase were that it had to be black, leather, and the perfect slouchy bag. I haven't found this bag ANYWHERE at a price I'd remotely pay.

Today, on a whim, I bought something completely different. It's Coach. It has the brown "C's" on it. It has red leather trim/strap. It's absolutely adorable. It's big enough. It stays on my shoulder. It was a great deal. I totally love it.

However, it's not black, leather, or slouchy.

I frequently have buyer's remorse. I can't decide if I have it for this bag. My bday is coming up and it's a big one (to me), and I bought it under "I'm going to be 35" duress.

Should I keep it? Do you need a picture to decide? If I showed you a picture, you'd tell me to keep it. Here's a link... this is the bag... w/ light brown fabric and red leather. And I promise, it was way WAY less than that!

Any thoughts?

It's cute, without a doubt.

Two questions:

1) Is it functional?
2) Does this purchase fit in your budget?

That would be my advice.....

Keep it! I have several expensive bags and I don't feel the least bit guilty about any of them. You carry it every day and will probably carry this one longer than most of your other bags, for many reasons. You wouldn't buy a cheap car to drive every day. You wouldn't buy cheap shoes if they were the only ones you were wearing. Don't feel guilty about an "un-cheap" purse. Carry it proudly!

I hear you on this. I too have been thinking of getting a new purse but I can't bring myself to spend the money. I would be in the same boat you are in and be thinking of returning it, but keep it. It's your birthday and you deserve it!

Keep it! It's cute and sometimes impulse splurges become the best things. I do understand what you mean about buyer's remorse. It happens to me way too often.
